What is Yellow Color Dotted Line in GIMP
In GIMP, the yellow layer border is a visual indicator of the active layer in the Layers panel. When you click on a layer in the Layers panel, a yellow border appears around the layer to indicate that it is the active layer. The active layer is the layer that you are currently working on and making changes to.
The yellow layer border is particularly useful when working with complex images that contain multiple layers. By indicating which layer is active, it helps you avoid making changes to the wrong layer and saves time by allowing you to quickly identify which layer you are working on.
Please note that the yellow border does not have any impact on the final image. It’s purely a visual indicator in the GIMP interface and does not affect the appearance of the image when it is saved or exported.
How to get rid of Yellow dotted line in GIMP?
To get rid of the yellow dotted line in GIMP you have to disable the layer boundary feature from the “View” menu.
You can disable it from the “View->Show Layer Boundry” menu option. You can re-enable it from the same place.
This will deselect or make the yellow dotted line around the canvas or layer disappear. But, remember this will make it difficult for you while working on the multi-layered project.
